Community Standards

The standards that help keep Gadget Trade communities, marketplace conversations, listings and transactions useful, respectful and safe.

Last updated September 2, 2026 Official Gadget Trade policy

01Purpose of these standards

Gadget Trade is a marketplace where people buy, sell, swap, communicate and participate in communities. These standards explain the behaviour expected across listings, messages, reviews, comments, communities and other user-facing areas.

The aim is to keep the service useful and trustworthy without preventing ordinary disagreement, product questions or honest feedback.

02Respect other members

Treat other users with basic respect. Do not use Gadget Trade to threaten, harass, intimidate, repeatedly target or deliberately humiliate another person.

Disagreement about a product, price, negotiation or transaction is allowed when it remains focused on the matter being discussed and does not become personal abuse.

  • No threats or targeted harassment.
  • No impersonation intended to deceive another member.
  • No deliberate abuse of another person because of a protected or personal characteristic.
  • No repeated unwanted contact after a person has clearly asked you to stop.

03Keep listings and transactions honest

Marketplace trust depends on accurate information. Sellers should describe the product they actually have and buyers should not deliberately create false payment, return or delivery claims.

Do not manipulate prices, stock, reviews, ratings or transaction records to create a false impression of demand, performance or trust.

04Protect personal information

Do not publish another person’s private information without permission. This includes private phone numbers, passwords, authentication codes, financial credentials, identity documents and other information that is not intended for public display.

If a transaction requires exchanging contact or delivery information, use the appropriate private marketplace flow where available and share only what is reasonably necessary.

05Content and intellectual property

Only upload photographs, videos, text, logos and other material that you are permitted to use. Do not deliberately copy another seller’s listing, photograph or branded material in a way that misleads buyers or infringes another person’s rights.

Gadget Trade may remove content where there is a credible policy, safety, legal or rights-related reason to do so.

06Keep marketplace conversations on Gadget Trade

Gadget Trade is designed to keep important buyer and seller communication connected to the marketplace. Do not pressure another member to move a transaction to WhatsApp, Telegram, phone calls, social media or another off-platform channel when doing so would bypass marketplace protections or make the transaction harder to review.

For user safety, Gadget Trade may detect and restrict messages that contain off-platform contact details or requests to move a transaction elsewhere. A warning may appear before a message is sent. This protection is intended to reduce scams and preserve useful transaction records; it does not replace good judgement.

  • Keep product questions and transaction discussions inside Gadget Trade where possible.
  • Never share passwords, one-time codes, card PINs or payment credentials in chat.
  • Report suspicious requests instead of following links or payment instructions you do not trust.
  • Gadget Trade may update detection patterns as new scam and abuse techniques emerge.

07Fraud, scams and suspicious activity

Gadget Trade must not be used to obtain money or information through deception. Suspicious payment requests, fake receipts, account takeover attempts, malicious links, impersonation and attempts to move users into unsafe arrangements may be restricted or reported.

Never share a password, one-time authentication code, card PIN or similar secret because another user says it is needed to complete a sale or provide support.

08Reporting a problem

  1. 1Open the relevant listing, message, profile or community area when a report tool is available.
  2. 2Describe what happened and identify the content or account involved.
  3. 3Attach useful evidence where the reporting flow permits it.
  4. 4Avoid retaliatory posts or repeated reports intended to harass another member.
  5. 5Use official support when a report concerns account access, payments, serious safety concerns or a transaction that requires additional review.

09Enforcement

Gadget Trade may remove content, limit features, restrict listings, suspend accounts or permanently restrict access when activity violates these standards or creates a serious marketplace risk.

The response may depend on the seriousness, frequency, evidence, account history and potential impact of the conduct. Enforcement is not intended to prevent users from raising legitimate complaints or seeking support.

10Appeals and corrections

If you believe an enforcement decision was made in error, contact Gadget Trade support and provide the relevant facts. Do not attempt to bypass a restriction by creating another account or continuing the same prohibited activity through another profile.

11Contact

For community-safety concerns, contact Gadget Trade through the official support channels listed on the Contact and Help Center pages. For privacy matters, use the Privacy Policy and privacy support route.
